Monument to Catania – Fountain dell'Amenano

The fountain dell'Amenano is a monument to Catania which is on the south side of Piazza Duomo.
This fountain, Carrara marble, It was built in 1867 Tito Angelini and is the river of the same name as a young man holding a cornucopia, from which comes the water falling like a waterfall on the river below.
Behind the fountain is a stone staircase lava door to the Fish, a fish market that is one of the major attractions of the city folk of Catania.
