Taormina – Greek-Roman Theater

A beautiful theatre in Taormina is the magnificent Greek-Roman Theater, dating back to the 3rd century B.C. today the venue for shows and concerts throughout the year, it is at the centre of the panorama together with the main street full of bars and typical shops and the characteristic ancient buildings that make Taormina one of the most visited places in the world by tourists from all over the world and of all ages.
Since the 1950s, Taormina and its Theater have presented forms of entertainment ranging from theatre to concerts, from the David di Donatello award ceremonies to symphonic concerts, from opera to ballet.
Since 1983 it has been the seat of Taormina Arte, an event of shows that takes place every year in the summer, and of the Taormina Film Fest. The theatre was also the location for some filming of Woody Allen’s film Goddess of Love and has been lauded and praised by singers, musicians and artists of all stripes. The view of the Theater of Taormina from Castelmola is particularly suggestive.
